177 Christ, who is the the true light (Jn 1:9)
Isa 9:2, Isa 49:6, Isa 42:6, Isa 51:4, Lk 2:28-32, Jn 8:12, Jn 9:5, Jn 12:46

In the Old Testament, God promised to send Christ to this earth to be the light of all. (Isa 9:2, Isa 49:6, Isa 42:6, Isa 51:4)

Isa 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

Isa 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Isa 42:6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

Isa 51:4 Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.

Christ came to this earth as the light. That is Jesus. (Jn 1:9, Lk 2:28-32)

Jn 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Lk 2:28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

Jesus also revealed that He is the light of the world. (Jn 8:12, Jn 9:5, Jn 12:46)

Jn 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Jn 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Jn 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
