The Old Testament prophesies that salvation can be obtained through Christ. That Christ is Jesus. (2 Tim 3:15)
2 Tim 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
The Old Testament is a prophecy of Christ. Jesus explained to his disciples that the prophecy about Christ had been fulfilled in him. (Jn 5:39, Lk 24:27,44-45)
Jn 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Lk 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
Paul also testified that the Christ described in the Old Testament was Jesus. (Acts 28:23)
Acts 28:23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
