1. God who killed Christ, who is the true image of God, to save us. (Ex 21:23-25)

In the Old Testament, God’s ordained law was that people should be punished for what they did. (Ex 21:23-25)

Ex 21:23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

We are made in the image of God. (Genesis 1:26-27)

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Christ is the true image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:4)

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

According to the law of the Old Testament, since we, who are the image of God, have sinned to die, the image of God must be put to death. God killed Christ, the true image of God, in order to save us. (2 Corinthians 5:21,14, 1 Peter 3:18)

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
