The Old Testament tells us to strive to know God, and God will give us grace. (Ho 6:3)
Ho 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
To know the true God and the one whom God has sent, Jesus Christ, is the knowledge of eternal life. (John 17:3)
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
We must grow in the knowledge of Christ. (2 Peter 3:18)
2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Then God’s grace and peace will abound in us. (2 Peter 1:2)
