1. But the righteous will live by faith in Jesus as the Christ. (Hab 2:4)
    Rom 1:17, Gal 3:11-14, Heb 10:38-39

In the Old Testament, God said that the just shall live by his faith. (Hab 2:4)

Hab 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

In the gospel God has given, it is written that the righteous will live by faith. (Romans 1:17)

Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

We cannot be made righteous by keeping the law. We receive the Holy Spirit and become righteous through faith in Jesus as the Christ. (Galatians 3:11-14)

Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

We are saved by believing that Jesus is the Christ. (Hebrews 10:38-39)

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
